UUC Sabbatical Planning Committee

2007-08 Annual Report

The Mission of the Sabbatical Planning Committee was to provide meaningful ministerial programs during our Senior Minister’s period of renewal. The theme of the Sabbatical Program was “Renewing Our Spirit…Deepening our Commitment”. It was the responsibility of the Committee, with the approval of the Board, to:

1. Oversee preparations for the minister’s sabbatical, including arranging for and hosting guest speakers;

2. Monitor and support the staff and board during the sabbatical;

3. Welcome back the minister upon his return.

The Committee is deeply thankful to Millie Rochester, Linda Stoller and the Board of Directors for their support during the sabbatical period, as well as to Dotti Doyle and Wayne Barrette who developed and produced the sabbatical brochures for both phases of Abhi’s time away from Clearwater. Many others also made significant contributions in publicity, music, adult education, and worship.

The Religious Services Committee partnered with the Sabbatical Committee and Worship Associates to present meaningful Sunday services. The office staff and volunteers did an excellent job of coordinating the many details required to make the program a success.

The Sabbatical Committee members working with Abhi, Millie and Linda worked for a year planning and executing the Sabbatical Program. It is our hope that the Program achieved its objectives.
