John Chase --"Last Call: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition”
An 18 minute voice recording of the NPR interview of author Daniel Okrent by Terry Gross will be played.
The interview is about Mr. Okrent’s 2010 book "Last Call: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition" which is a social history of an almost forgotten time.

Sandy Gourdine --Computers for Cape Town Kids
Ms. Gourdine, President of the Friendship Force of the Florida Suncoast, will show a short DVD of the children and school in Cape Town, South Africa,
where laptop computers were supplied in March 2010 by donations through that organization. (The Better World Fund made a donation to this cause.)
She will also explain what Friendship Force is and speak about the organization’s future projects.

Bill Dishongh --Standing on the Side of Love in Arizona
Mr. Dishongh, UUC member, will give us a status report on his recent activism in Phoenix, protesting against SB 1070, Arizona’s harsh anti-immigrant law,
including his time in the Phoenix jail as a cellmate of Peter Morales, President of UUA. News Flash: Mr. Dishongh must be in Arizona starting September 17,
so his DVD will be used for Open Issues.

Mark Brandt / Jeff Ford -- Is the God of the Bible True?
Mark Brandt, long-time member of UUC, and Jeff Ford, member of Calvary Baptist Church, will engage in a lively debate and discussion.
Mr. Ford is writing a book on the one hundred most misunderstood verses of the Bible. (This debate/discussion will also occur at the men's group of Mr. Ford’s church in early September.)
