Sustaining UUC While Deepening Our Values
With our
Green Fest 2010 theme, we are promoting the sustainability of our congregation in not only financial terms - very important! -- but also in terms of our values: greater connection to our community, healthier living, and deeper respect for the earth and the interconnected web of life.

In gathering support for the auction, we are not only reaching out to our wonderful supporters from previous years, but also making new connections, such as asking for support from local businesses in the green and sustainable marketplace. As the auction does every year, we are donating a portion of the proceeds to a worthy cause in the community. This year we are giving to
Green Florida, an area non-profit that promotes stronger neighborhoods through community gardening.

Let's Celebrate!
What would a UUC auction be without lots of FUN? We're blessed to have folk singer
Amy Carol Webb in concert at the Octogon after the bidding is over. In keeping with the auction tradition, we're serving dinner that, we know, will rival Emeril's finest cuisine. Also expect lots of raffle items and door prizes!

Original Work of Art for our Poster Theme
Every year the auction is blessed with a really creative theme and artwork to go along with it. In 2010 we have commissioned an original work from a talented and respected fine artist in our congregation (we'll keep you guessing about his or her indentity-"wink"). That orginal work wll be made into a poster and used in our promotions. The artist has been generous enough to donate the original work to the auction. As we get closer to auction day, we will have an unveiling of the poster art for everyone.

How you can help now

Volunteer!

We have fun doing good works…

The auction takes a symphony of volunteers to be successful. We have all kinds of jobs and roles still to be done: big and small, jobs like sponsor and advertiser fundraising, decorating, donation pickup, postering, auction day helpers and many more. We're also asking everyone who is able, to ask for sponsorships, advertisements or donations from two people in their close network of contacts (See the Sponsor! section below, the "Two Neighbor, Two-for-one" campaign.)

Contact Joanne Osburn, 727-729-8515, or Bill Dishongh, 727-415-7676, or
email Bill here.

Sponsor!

Everybody can help with the "Two Neighbor, Two-for-one" campaign…

We have a dedicated -- but small -- group of volunteers who are reaching out to many businesses and organizations to be a sponsor or advertise at the auction. Really, the 2010 Sponsorships and Advertising Catalog can be a great marketing benefit for many businesses. Let's not keep it a secret! We are asking everyone who is able to approach two contacts in their personal or business network: your employer, a friend who owns a business (especially ones that are “green”), your hairdresser or barber, your financial advisor, your club members, your lawyer, your lawn care service, etc.
We will have a successful auction this year if we can succeed in getting Two sponors from every One who asks.

To sign up sponsors & advertisers, please fill out and return the
Sponsorship Flyer.
